Just say it!
Direct, clear, open and honest communication is a hallmark sign of healthy families. Being able to share hopes, dreams, concerns and thoughts is important. Dealing with anger and conflict is imperative. Relationships are built on healthy communication, so it is no surprise that communication breakdowns and failure to understand each other are often a primary reason that couples and families seek therapy.

Family Resolutions that Matter...Family Meals


After a long day at the office, and an overloaded schedule of extracurricular activities for our kids, it’s no wonder that we find ourselves lined up at the fast-food counter. Our busyness has led to the demise of the family dinner.
Yet, research has shown that families that eat dinner together have children that are more well-adjusted, less likely to use drugs and alcohol and less likely to experience depression. They are more likely to do well in school and to enjoy healthier relationships. They develop fewer eating disorders, and eat healthier as young adults.
