Taking Our Own Parenting Advice

Think about how many times we give kids direction on any given day hour minute.  Kids are given instructions on everything.  I've said it more than once, though, that our kids are more likely to do as we do, rather than as we say.  Below is a list of just a few of the commands we give our kids, in hopes of raising well-adjusted, contributing members of society.  Now, I ask, which ones do you need to work on yourself?

Settle Down

Use Your Inside Voice

No Hitting

Be Kind

Keep Your Hands to Yourself

Take a Deep Breath

Think Before You Speak

Do Your Best

Keep It Positive

What other directions do you give your kids that you need to work on yourself?

As always, from Kidlutions, we wish you Happy Parenting!

I have on occasion noticed that I am saying "inside voice" in a, shall we say less inside voice than I'm demanding! Thanks for the great reminders!

So very true! Often times I am stressed and I don't hide that from my kids. I let them see the worst of me. Then when they mad or upset at something I reprimand them telling them to stop acting like that and to be sweet. This is something that has bothered me a lot lately and I'm trying to change it. I am popping over from BonBon Break. Congrats on the feature!
Thanks for popping in, Kathy! I remind myself as much as I remind everyone else! We're all in this together!

Debbie,

Thanks for dropping by! You know what the mark of a great parent is? One who reflects on their own behavior and tweaks things, always stretching and growing...just the way we want our kids to! That makes you a great parent!

Hi there,
I just came across this infographic now and think it's perfect for me! :-)

I also would like to share it with my parenting page fans on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ConsciousParentingApproach and would like to seek your permission to post this from my page, with credits of course to Kidlutions. Could I do this or do you have it on your FB page and are you particular that I share it directly from your page? Please do let me know.

Thanks in advance for your time and looking forward to hearing from you!!

Best regards,
Lisha
