Parenting or Teaching an Angry, Over-the-Top Kid?

Parenting or Teaching an Angry, Over-the-Top Kid

Through the years I've gotten lots of questions about dealing with angry and over-the-top kids (which I've shortened to OTT for ease of discussion here).  In fact, it's one of our many popular topics here on the blog and on our site. For good reason, too! We all want to know more about dealing with these behaviors because of how they make US feel.

It Doesn't Have to Be This Way

I've worked with parents and educators long enough to know how overwhelming it can be to stand face to face with a child whose intensity astounds, perplexes and sometimes infuriates us.

It. Doesn't. Have. To. Be. This. Way.

That's a promise. There are some things you can do that will change everything. It's why Dr. Lynne Kenney and I wrote BLOOM: 50 Things to Say, Think and Do with Anxious, Angry and Over-the-Top Kids (out May 5th). You guys have consistently made this book the #1 New Release on Amazon in its category and for that we are eternally grateful!

But Wait, There's More!

If you want to dig a little deeper, I'll be sharing more information tonight on the #TeacherFriends tweetchat from 9pm - 10pm EDT! It's a full hour dedicated to angry, OTT kids...and what we can do to help them! The hour will go quickly and the resources I'll share are tried and true and some of them are never before released video clips that explore the topic more in depth in less about five minutes. Tweets will be flying, but no worries, because it will all be archived.  You'll be able to access all of the resources in one place. We'll share it all right here, once it's archived.

Stumped No More

After our time together on the chat, you'll no longer be stumped about what you can do to help angry, OTT kids. We have the tools, the neuroscience and the know-how to change it all. After tonight, you'll have a plethora of ideas you can put into action immediately! We hope to see you there!

Be sure to follow us @Kidlutions and use the hashtag #TeacherFriends to join in all the fun.  If you're a newbie, you can join in at 8:30pm, when Debbie Clement @KweezleQueen, the host, will get you feeling more comfortable with the process.

Oh, oh, oh! Plus, there will be prizes!

Hope to see you there!
