What's Under Barbara Gruener's Cape?
Before we get to the goods on What's Under Your Cape? Superheroes of the Character Kind, let's just establish what's under the cape of its author, Barbara Gruener...HEART. A huge heart, at that. Barbara's enthusiasm for all things kindness, character and service just leap off the pages and inspire you to encourage the same in those around you, particularly the younger generation.
I was immediately drawn in by the ease with which Barbara conveyed her amazing ideas. Barbara's style is comfortable and warm, like a visit from an old friend. I've never met her, yet I could feel her genuine compassion through her words. The values and virtues she embraces are come by honestly and it's clear that this is one lady who practices what she preaches. You'll learn about Barbara's formative years on a farm in the Midwest (ironically, a town well known to me) and how those experiences laid the groundwork for her future profession. While the book is not a memoir, she weaves personal anecdotes into the prose, that give insights into what drives her passion for the work she does with today's youth.
